Challenge
About 53.2% of the farms in California rely on groundwater for irrigation. The total US market for groundwater testing irrigation is 65% of the overall irrigated water. The quality of water matters substantially in the quality of crop yield. Unfortunately, the contamination of groundwater is very high, including contaminants such as arsenic and nitrates which have devastating effects on crop yield. The agriculture industry suffers from the lack of real-time, affordable instrumentation to provide proactive alerts for nitrates and other relevant toxins. In California, 610.1millions of gallons per day of groundwater being used for irrigation needs to be tested for delivering safe and productive crops.
