Challenge

A $5 billion water company, which is a leading water provider for individual and integrated water solutions, has benefitted with $20 million in savings in 1 year after utilizing the KETOS tools and insights. The KETOS platform provided valuable water analytics and implemented a comprehensive IoT transformation. Before KETOS, the company used manual operations for all diagnostics and filter replacements which were time-consuming and resulted in heavy financial losses.

KETOS integration

KETOS Shield and KETOS Wave were used in drinking water fountains to identify leaks and monitor contaminants as part of active monitoring as part of water safety assurance testing, filter accuracy assessment, and optimized service operations and maintenance.

KETOS Wave was used in water storage tanks for accurate quantitate data for proactive alerts on leaks and overfills.

KETOS Shield was placed in water filtration and purification systems to measure toxicity according to EPA threshold levels. In addition, KETOS Shield was used to detect metal ions for filtration accuracy post-treatment.

Business Impact

The KETOS integration replaced manual checkup for filters in every water storage tank spanning across 13 countries. KETOS provided data with real-time predictive power and cost savings that went from $24.6M to $3.2M annually. In addition, KETOS deployment allowed proactive alerts across all product lines. The filter is now switched only when it is saturated and detected by KETOS Wave. After deploying KETOS’ affordable and accessible tools, the water company realized $9.6M in just manual operations savings.
